Jack was a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Appraisal Institute's 2015 Annual Meeting. The president of the Institute was quoted as saying, "Through his input on regulations, Jack has played a key role in helping to shape the standards of quality and ethics of today's appraisers."
Jack is one of the original owners of Associated Appraisers of Walla Walla LLC, which opened in 1986. He earned his B.A. degree from Washington State University in 1956, and is a graduate of the School of Mortgage Banking, Northwestern University. Since then, he spent time in the Tri-Cities as a Mortgage Loan Manager, a farmer in the Willamette Valley developing a diversified irrigated farm, a fee appraiser in the Portland area, an owner and/or manager of several farms in Washington and Oregon, and a fee appraiser in Walla Walla prior to opening his own firm. Jack has served as president of the Columbia Basin Chapter of the American Institute (AI) and the Washington Chapter of American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers (ASFMRA). He holds many professional designations including SRA and MAI from the AI, and ARA from the ASFMRA.
